KPM-WFM武术赛落幕‧甲武出44金 6连冠

(马六甲5日讯)2019年第9届KPM-WFM武术锦标赛圆满落幕,马六甲共获得44面金牌,除了成为全场总冠军,同时也取得6连冠的佳绩!
该锦标赛昨午进行闭幕仪式,并邀请原产业部副部长拿督斯里三苏依斯干达主持。
三苏:州政府支持学生运动
三苏伊斯干达致词时表示,州政府对学生群的运动非常支持。他也非常佩服该锦标赛参赛者的能耐及技能,并恭喜武术健儿曾在国际舞台上获得佳绩。
他也恭喜代表马来西亚的武术健儿,在去年分别在缅甸及巴西的国际赛事中获得5面及4面金牌。
“希望教育部和马来西亚武术总会能够继续合作举办赛事,为国家运动事业的发展出一分力。”
颜天禄:武术走进校园受肯定
马六甲武术龙狮总会署理会长拿督威拉颜天禄表示,该锦标赛共获得了来自全国各州及联邦直辖区的450名运动健儿参与,在经过2天的激烈切磋之后,如今来到了尾声,他向在赛会中取得优异成绩的健儿表示热烈的祝贺,也向所有在赛事筹备过程中付出辛劳的全体工作人员表示衷心的感谢。
他说,该锦标赛是对运动员心理素质、身体素质、竞技水平的一次检验,而在赛场上每一项记录,都是运动员顽强毅力的结晶,也是习武之人团结协作精神及奉献精神的折射。
“随着马来西亚教育部与马来西亚武术总会常年配合举办青少年武术锦标赛,我希望未来大马将继续保持相对良好的竞技实力,甚至打造我国成为国际主要的武术运动交流培训基地之一,从而持续推进这个体育项目的发展工作。”
他表示,该锦标赛今年正式迈入第9个年头,而教育部长期给予赛事的支持,可说让武术走进校园的工作得到了巨大肯定,武术如今可见在我国各州校园学府遍地开花,通过设班提供学子学习武术的机会,进而受到传统武德的熏陶,吸纳中华文化的精髓,使到武术文化体育在我国正走向另一个发展阶段。
出席者包括马来西亚武术总会总会长拿督张金发、马六甲武术龙狮总会副会长蔡进财、黎辉强、秘书长杨庆权、甲武术队教练蔡进兴、美禄赞助商代表吴斌龙、市议员林祥和及甲州体育理事会武术组协调员鲁菲等。

Sarawak bag 22 medals at KPM wushu championships

KUCHING: Sarawak ended their campaign in the 9th KPM-WFM National Wushu Championship with four gold, eight silver and 10 bronze medals at the Temasek Hotel in Melaka last Saturday.
The 22-member team comprising mainly of newcomers and managed by Jong Chin Wei took part in the taolu and sanda events.
Sukma athlete Stephanie Ngu Chai Ern did well to bag the gold medal in Girls Group B jianshu and silver medals in Group B changquan and qiangshu. She finished fourth in the group event.

The student from Chung Hua Middle School No. 3 could have been a triple gold medalist if not for errors committed while executing her moves in changquan and qiangshu.
Her teammate Fu Sian Wei who is also a Sukma athlete also bagged one gold in Boys Group B qiangshu. He collected a silver in the changquan and a bronze each in jianshu and group event.
Another Chung Hua Middle School No. 3 student Edison Wong Sing Yen collected a silver in Boys Group A taijiquan and a bronze in taijijian.
Fu Sian Wei won the gold medal in Boys B changquan.
Ann Sim Jia Eng, the 14-year old student from SMK Kuching High who made her debut appearance in the championship, also impressed with a gold in the 42 style taijijian and silver in 42 style taijiquan.
Other contributors of silver medals were Carmen Chaw Jia Min, Belda Chan Zhi Yi and Anselym Owen Lo Yen Qi.
In sanda competition, 18-year-old Daniel Manggin from SMK Kanowit took the gold medal in the 70kg below category while teammates Voon Shi Chiang and Ngu Tien Fa won bronze in the 48kg below and 42kg below respectively.
The two-day championship jointly organised by KPM and the Wushu Federation of Melaka saw the hosts in the class of their own when they captured 44 gold, 13 silver and 24 bronze medals.
Negeri Sembilan came in second with seven gold, nine silver and 18 bronze, followed by Penang (6-16-23) and Kuala Lumpur (6-13-21).
Wushu Federation of Sarawak (WFS) president Allen Wong Siew Poh was pleased with the performance of the state athletes.
“We fielded many new faces this year and looking at the results, we have seen improvement when compare to last year.
“I hope and urge the coaches and athletes to continue with your efforts and fight for the next big competition, the National Wushu Championship in Johor in September,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jong conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to parents of the athletes and their respective schools for their strong support in promoting wushu.
“This championship is jointly organised by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia which showed there is increasing concern on wushu development by KPM in the youth stage. Hence, we hope there will be more schools supporting us in the near future by letting our coaches to groom potential athletes for the State.
“Indeed, all our athletes have done their best in this championship and brought glory to their schools. Stephanie Ngu Chai Ern, Fu Sian Wei and Daniel won gold medals for Sarawak.
“This proved the state wushu training programme is right on track with the support from the Sarawak State Sports Council and the Sarawak Sports Corporation. The athletes’ performance had given us the confidence to prepare for a better achievement in Sukma Johor next year,” added Jong.
